When I'm looking at these images I feel like I'm more than ready for another vacation. I already showed you a glimpse of our honeymoon in this post and since many of you asked about the hotels we stayed at you'll get the promised hotel reviews now. We stayed in three different hotels however there aren't really any pictures from the first hotel (Is Arenas Resort) since we were just too exhausted from the wedding and just relaxed. But we had an amazing time there so if you're ever nearby make sure to stay there.
Hotel number two - which we're talking about in this hotel review - was the The Pelican Beach Resort & Spa in Olbia which we liked especially due to the vicinity to the Costa Smeralda where all the famous beaches are. We also went to see La Maddalena from there (very recommendable!). We had a room with sea view next door where also the restaurant and the hotel owned beach was located. The restaurant was definitely the best thing about the hotel! During our whole stay in Italy we had our best dinner there.

What I liked the most about the hotel:
  • The food: We had dinner twice at the restaurant of the hotel and it was amazing! We loved the steak and the spaghetti with lobster.

  • Adults only: No kids allowed was the best thing that could have happened to us on a romantic honeymoon!

  • The service: Everyone was very kind and helpful and made our stay very pleasant.

  • The bathroom: I loved that they had Bulgari care products which I already knew from a hotel in Lech am Arlberg. I love their scent and I still have a little body lotion at home which still reminds me of our sweet getaway!

What I didn't like that much:
  • The luggage storage: Since our room wasn't ready when we arrived we could drop off our luggage at the lobby. We didn't felt like this was a safe place so we put our valuables in the trunk of our car which wasn't a smart idea in the end. IMPORTANT: never leave anything valuable in your car and insist on a locked luggage room at the hotel in case your room isn't ready!

  • The parking situation: Since the hotel had no parking lot for their guests but only an underground garage (for which you had to pay an extra 20€ per day) we parked our car in front of the hotel in the street. Unfortunately we got robbed on our first afternoon there and even though we know it wasn't the fault of the hotel, the parking situation itself wasn't really convenient for us since we wanted to use the car multiple times a day. Therefore the garage felt too complex and honestly said too expensive for a hotel in this price range. In the end we know we should have spent the extra 60€ for the garage but hindsight is easier than foresight.

  • The beach: We didn't like that there were separated beach areas for guests staying in a suite and guests staying in rooms.
Fun fact: In our last hotel we had a suite which didn't give us any benefits which was fine for us since very guest should be able to enjoy the hotel to its fullest and not depending on how much he spent for the room.
