DIY Marble Table

When I asked you the last time what you like best about elastyle, the three most frequently mentioned things were A) outfit posts/topic mix, B) pictures and C) DIY projects (I would like to thank all of you for the numerous comments, the feedback and the hymns of praise - the elastyle-team was really happy to hear that!). The topic mix and the outfit posts are also very important to me because I wanna make elastyle something special for both my readers and myself. For the amazing pictures I have to praise my photographer - I compliment him everyday #foundmyselfacheerleader! And everytime somebody tells me the pictures are great he gets a treat - and DIY projects are one of my biggest passions.

The idea to make this DIY marble table is already a couple of months old. To be honest I just did not dare to try it out. I already had some doubts with regards to using this foil and I was not mistaken. I would say that this DIY was one of the toughest ones I ever did but I also have to say that this one had the biggest impression. I'm really happy with our new kitchen table - especially for Instagram pictures it's perfect (some of you already might have seen some breakfast pictures with the new marble table).

And now I would like to know: How do you like it?

All you need: drilling machine, new table legs, foil, CD Cover and dishtowel

First change the table legs. You don’t wanna flip your table when you just put on the foil.

Messure the table and mark where you have to cut the foil.

Clean the table very thoroughly so that the foil can be attached. Start at one edge and slowly stick on the foil. Wrap the dishtowel around the CD cover and use it to smooth down the foil – this helps to avoid air bubbles.

Before / after.
