Closet Tour

It's time to make our closets ready for the new season. Tiny tops, airy dresses and sandals are put aside and the thick pullovers are put in the foreground. I also used this occasion to sort out some pieces. I'm now selling them on Kleiderkreisel, feel free to have a look, maybe there is something you would like. In case you're interested in something just shoot me a message. However, my closet did not get roomier due to this clearing out because I'm constantly adding new things. Here are a few guidlines that I'm following now to keep my closet clean:

I try to hang up as much as possible, to have a good overview. My experience showed that I hardly ever wear clothes that are folded up, because I just don’t see them. I try to organize my clothes color wise. In the front, there are tops and blouses hung up from bright to dark and behind there are my dresses, also organized from bright to dark. I have to admit, that my hangers are not pretty at all, but they save a lot of space. First I had solely wooden hangers from IKEA, but in my closet there is only space for 40 of those hangers and from the wire hangers I have more than 150, some of them are also double hung (yes, it’s a lot of stuff!). The wires you get at most cleaning companies. The only things I fold up are normal t-shirts, skirts, pullovers, long shirts and trousers.

My hats and bags I keep in a bookshelf without doors, so that I can easily grab one when I’m on the go.

In my second closet I keep cardigans, jackets and blazers. Winter jackets and coats I have at the coat rack in our entrance – makes sense. At the bottom of the closet I store bags which I don’t use that often, but I still want to keep in a way.
