I can’t help myself but I still love those trousers and could wear them every day even though I bought them one year ago. I love how they turn an outfit into an eyecatcher. There are very versatile and can be worn with different layers like I did on these pictures or just with a simple sweater for colder days.

Ich kann mir nicht helfen, ich liebe diese Hosen immer noch und könnte sie jeden Tag tragen auch wenn ich sie schon bereits vor einem Jahr gekauft habe. Mir gefällt dass sie ein Outfit zu einem richtigen Blickfang machen. Sie sind vielseitig kombinierbar und können mit verschiedenen Schichten getragen werden wie hier auf diesen Bildern oder einfach mit einem einfachen Pullover an kälteren Tagen.

Window Treatment

When we moved into our flat two and a half year ago, I immediatly wanted to have curtains. But if you move into a flat that is completely empty it is more important to have a kitchen, a sofa and a bed first… Time went by and our flat filled with items – but what was still missing were the curtains. After this long time I finally attempted this mission and I am very happy with the outcome. Our flat is now way cozier.
Please note: Don’t postphone things like that when you move into a new appartment otherwise it will take years until you get it done!

Als wir vor zweieinhalb Jahren in unsere Wohnung gezogen sind, wollte ich sofort Vorhänge haben. Aber wenn man in eine Wohnung zieht die komplett leer ist, ist es anfangs wichtiger eine Küche, ein Sofa und ein Bett zu haben… Die Zeit verging und unsere Wohnung füllte sich – was aber immer noch fehlte waren die Vorhänge. Nach dieser langen Zeit nahm ich diese Sache in Angriff und ich bin sehr glücklich mit dem Ergebnis. Unsere Wohnung ist jetzt viel gemütlicher.
Merke: Verschiebe solche Sachen nicht wenn du in eine neue Wohnung ziehst, sonst dauert es ewig bis man es endlich macht!

I bought these curtains from IKEA but they were way too long, that’s why I bought an iron-on hemming tape and shortened them – easy and without sewing!

Ich habe diese Vorhänge bei IKEA gekauft, aber sie waren viel zu lange. Deshalb habe ich ein Saumband gekauft und sie somit gekürzt – einfach und ohne nähen!

Skull Dress

Pairing the same patterns is never easy but pairing patterns with different patterns is even harder. But this season permits everything. I bought this scarf about three years ago because I loved the skulls on it and sometimes people don’t even recognize them at first glance. But I had a hard time pairing it with other patterns because of the color. But now I found this dress on sale and recognized that in combination with this scarf it is the perfect match.

Dieselben Muster zu kombinieren ist nicht leicht, aber verschiedene Muster zu kombinieren ist noch schwerer. Aber diese Saison ist alles erlaubt. Ich habe dieses Tuch vor ca. drei Jahren gekauft, weil mir die Totenköpfe darauf so gut gefallen haben und manchmal fallen sie den Menschen auf den ersten Blick gar nicht auf. Aber es war nicht leicht, das Tuch mit anderen Mustern zu kombinieren aufgrund seiner Farbe. Aber jetzt habe ich dieses Kleid im Ausverkauf gefunden und bemerkt, dass es in Kombination mit dem Tuch die ideale Kombi ist.

Patterned Pencil Skirt

There’s nothing like a nice lunch on sunday with familiy and friends. I love this restaurant because they have a big, trimed garden – which is not that easy to find anymore. This skirt was the perfect choice for this day because it made my outfit looked pulled-together however not over-dressed. The big statement necklace and my Michael Kors tote gave the outfit its casual touch.

Es gibt nichts schöneres wie ein nettes Mittagessen am Sonntag mit Freunden und Familie. Ich liebe dieses Restaurant, weil es einen großen, gepflegten Garten hat – was nicht mehr so leicht zu finden ist. Dieser Rock war die perfekte Wahl für diesen Tag, weil ich dadurch gut angezogen, aber nicht over-dressed war. Die große Statementkette und meine Michael Kors Tasche gaben dem Outfit einen lässigen Touch.

That’s where my heart is…

I just wanted to show you what I made my mum for mother’s day. Since I am not living in the state where I grew up and where my parents still live, I do miss them sometimes very bad. This was the best way to show my mum how important she is to me.

Ich wollte euch nur noch zeigen was ich meiner Mama zum Muttertag gemacht habe. Da ich nicht mehr in dem Bundesland wohne, wo ich aufgewachsen bin und wo meine Eltern immer noch wohnen, fehlen sie mir manchmal wirklich sehr. Das war die beste Möglichkeit meiner Mama zu zeigen, wie wichtig sie mir ist.

All you need: scissors, cutting board, sharpies and a stencil of your country

Alles was du brauchst: Schere, Schneidbrett, Eddings und eine Schablone deines Landes

Step 1: Cut out the stencil and sketch out the shape of the country onto your cutting board.

Schritt 1: Schneide die Schablone aus und zeichne die Umrisse deines Landes auf deinem Schneidebrett vor.

Step 2: Trace the shape of your country with a sharpie and write a personal message onto the board.

Schritt 2: Zeichne die Umrisse deines Landes mit einem Edding nach und schreibe eine persönliche Nachricht auf das Brett.

Heart Spelt Cookies

I was looking for a special, made-with-love gift for mothersday and this is the first part of it. These cookies (similar recipe here – I used nuts instead of chocolate) are a healthy – but also delicious – treat. They are not as sweet as normal cookies and they are made with spelt flour. It is very easy to make them on your own and it just takes about 30 minutes. Delight your mum with this sweet present – she will love it!!!

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem besonderen, mit-Liebe-gemachten Geschenk für den Muttertag und das ist der erste Teil davon. Diese Kekse sind eine gesunde – aber auch köstliche – Gaumenfreude. Sie sind nicht so süß wie normale Kekse und sie sind mit Dinkelmehl gemacht. Sie sind sehr leicht zu machen und man braucht nur ca. 30 Minuten. Mach deiner Mama eine Freude mit diesem süßen Geschenk – sie wird es lieben!!!

Romantic Lace

It takes a lot to wear all white – that’s what I learnt when I walked through the city with this outfit. At home I was all confident and loved this combination. I threw on this pastel blazer before I left because I thought it would dress down this style. But when I went ouside all eyes were on me because this trend didn’t already arrive where I live. But after a while I got used to the glances and was all confident again. Sometimes you just have to take the risk…

Es braucht schon etwas Mut um den Komplett-Weiß-Look zu tragen – das habe ich gelernt, als ich mit diesem Outfit durch die Stadt spaziert bin. Zuhause war ich noch total selbstbewusst und liebte diese Kombination. Ich warf mir diesen pastellfarbenen Blazer über bevor ich ging, weil ich dachte es würde den Style etwas legerer machen. Aber als ich raus ging, waren alle Blicke auf mich gerichtet, weil dieser Trend anscheinend noch nicht da angekommen ist wo ich lebe. Aber nach einer Weile habe ich mich an die Blicke gewöhnt und war wieder so selbstbewusst wie zuhause. Manchmal muss man eben etwas riskieren…

Casino Royale

From time to time my boyfriend and I like to spend an evening at the casino. The problem is that I am a very bad loser. I don’t like to lose anyway but especially if it is about money – that is scarce anyway as a student – it is twice as hard. Yesterday our stay at the casino was quite short because after 20 min we both lost the entrance fee and decided to stop there, go home and have a glas of wine. Unlucky at cards, lucky in love…
PS: At least my new dress had its debut.

Von Zeit zu Zeit verbringen mein Freund und ich gerne mal einen Abend im Casino. Das Problem ist nur, dass ich ein sehr schlechter Verlierer bin. Ich verliere sowieso nicht gerne, aber speziell wenn es um Geld geht – was sowieso knapp ist als Studentin – ist es doppelt so hart. Gestern war unser Aufenthalt im Casino recht kurz, weil wir bereits nach 20 min das Eintrittsgeld verspielt hatten und dann entschlossen haben, aufzuhören und lieber zuhause noch ein Glas Wein zu trinken. Pech im Spiel, Glück in der Liebe…
PS: Wenigstens mein Kleid hatte seinen ersten Auftritt.

Longing vs. Saving

Longing vs. Saving will be my first montly series about fashion pieces that you would love to have and a more favourable version of it. The first thing I decided to start with are these pumps. Gray suede pumps are something that works almost with every outfit. You can wear them with black trousers and a great blazer for work but you can also pair it with your favourite pastel summer dress. The Jimmy Choo version is a little darker than the version from H&M, but I think the price helps you to overlook that.

Longing vs. Saving wird meine erste monatliche Serie über Gegenstände der Modewelt die man liebend gerne haben würde und eine günstigere Version davon. Als erstes möchte ich mit diesem Pumps beginnen. Graue Wildleder Pumps sind etwas, das fast zu jedem Outfit passt. Man kann es mit schwarzen Hosen und einem tollen Blazer zur Arbeit anziehen oder man kombiniert es mit seinem pastellfarbenen Lieblingssommerkleid. Die Jimmy Choo Version ist etwas dunkler also die Version von H&M, aber ich glaube der Preis lässt darüber hinwegsehen.

See-through Companion

When we were in Italy a few weeks ago I wandered through the streets with the small italian shops and stopped by at a place where they sold handbags. I sneaked in and had a look at their new arrivals. And there she was. This incredible see-through neon clutch with studs. She combines all the new trends and spices up every outfit!

Als wir vor ein paar Wochen in Italien war, streifte ich durch die Straßen mit den kleinen italienischen Shops und stoppte bei einem Geschäft wo es Handtaschen gab. Ich schlich mich hinein und schaute mir die neue Ware an. Und da war sie. Diese unglaubliche, durchsichtige Neon-Clutch mit Nieten. Sie kombiniert alle neuen Trends und peppt jedes Outfit auf!

DIY Spinach & Salmon in Puff Pastry

I once ate this delicious pockets filled with spinach and salmon and since then I make them myself ever other month. I use this recipe but instead of combining the spinach and the salmon, I’m filling half of the pockets with spinach and feta cheese, and the other half with salmon. It is a very easy and tasteful dish that doesn’t need a lot of preparation, so it is perfect for lazy sundays.

I aß einmal diese köstlichen Taschen gefüllt mit Spinat und Lachs und seit da, mach ich sie selber alle zwei Monate einmal. Ich verwende dieses Rezept, aber anstatt den Spinat und den Lachs zu vermischen, fülle ich die halben Taschen mit Spinat und Feta und die andere Hälfte mit Lachs. Es ist ein sehr einfaches und geschmackvolles Gericht, braucht keine große Vorbereitungen und ist somit perfekt für faule Sonntage.

Striped Differences

Stripes are all over at the moment. We see them on shirts, blazers, trousers and the list goes on. This dress is a nice version to wear the trend because it is a little different and it has this special highlight. I like this dress, because it shows that being a little different isn’t that bad sometimes.

Streifen sind momentan überall. Wir sehen sie auf Shirts, Blazern, Hosen und die Liste geht weiter. Dieses Kleid ist eine tolle Version den Trend zu tragen, weil es etwas anders ist und ein besonderes Highlight hat. Ich mag dieses Kleid, weil es zeigt, dass etwas anders zu sein manchmal gar nicht so schlecht ist.

Caviar Nails

Caviar nails are a new and fresh way of styling your nails. When I first saw these little pearls I was not that sure if it is a good investment because I had my doubts if they would stay on your nails or fall of straight away. Now I tried it and it is super easy to do and once applied to the wet nail polish the pearls are fixed. I love the texture these pearls create and I can’t wait to buy more pearls in another color.

Caviar Nägel sind eine neue und frische Art seine Nägel zu stylen. Als ich diese kleinen Perlen zum ersten Mal sah, war ich nicht sicher ob sie eine gute Investition sind, da ich meine Zweifel hatte, ob die auch auf den Fingernägeln halten oder direkt wegfallen. Jetzt habe ich es versucht, es ging super einfach und wenn die Perlen erstmal auf dem nassen Nagellack sind, halten sie bombenfest. Ich liebe die Struktur, die sich aufgrund der Perlen ergibt und erwarte es kaum, die Perlen auch in anderen Farben zu kaufen.

All you need: pearls, pastel nail polish, white nail polish and topcoat

Alles was du brauchst: Perlen, pastellfarbenen Nagellack, weißen Nagellack und Überllack

Step 1: Varnish all your nails. I did only one or two nails on each hand with the pearls, because in my opinion an all over look looks too intentional.

Schritt 1: Lackiere alle deine Nägel. Ich habe die Perlen nur an einem oder zwei Nägeln pro Hand verwendet, weil in meinen Augen ein all-over-look zu gewollt aussieht.

Step 2: When you applied the second coat of the white polish immediatly apply the pearls, because only when the polish is still wet the pearls will stick on it. Put something underneath that catches the excessive pearls.

Schritt 2: Wenn du die zweite Schicht von dem weißen Nagellack aufgetragen hast, solltest du die Perlen sofort darüberstreuen, weil die Perlen nur dann halten, wenn der Nagellack noch richtig nass ist. Gib etwas darunter, dass die überschüssigen Perlen auffängt.

Step 3: Carefully squeeze the pearls onto your nail.

Schritt 3: Drücke die Perlen vorsichtig auf den Nagel.

Step 4: Apply top coat to fix the pearls once again.

Schritt 4: Trage den Überlack auf, um die Perlen erneut zu fixieren.

Step 5: Put the excessive pearls back into the flask.

Schritt 5: Schütte die überschüssigen Perlen zurück ins Fläschchen.

Boyfriend Style

Last weekend I found the perfect boyfriend jeans I was looking for a while. When wearing a boyfriend jeans you need to consider a couple of things…
Lenght. They shouldn’t be longer than 7/8.
Roll up the cuffs. Roll them above your ankles if you wear it with heels or just below if you pair it with flat sandals or ballet flats.
Keep the rest of the look casual. Don’t try too hard with your accessoires.

Vergangenes Wochenende habe ich die perfekte Boyfriend Jeans gefunden, nach der ich schon länger gesucht habe. Wenn man eine Boyfriend Jeans trägt, sollte man einige Punkte beachten:
Länge. Sie sollte nicht länger wie 7/8 sein.
Krempel den Bund hoch. Krempel die Hose über die Knöchel wenn du dazu High Heels trägst odr knapp darunter, wenn du dazu Sandalen oder Ballerinas trägst.
Halte den Rest des Looks schlicht.  Übertreibe es nicht mit zu vielen Accessoires.

Ear Bud Taco Case

It’s always the same problem: my ear buds are tangled everytime I want to use them! I needed a solution and came up with this cute taco case that is very easy to re-do. Now my ear buds will be immediately ready to use.

Es ist immer dasselbe Problem: meine Kopfhörer sind verheddert wenn ich sie verwenden will. Ich brauchte eine Lösung und machte diese süße Taco Hülle die man leicht nachmachen kann. Von nun an sind meine Kopfhörer immer sofort verwendbar.

All you need: leather, scissors, studs, thread, snaps and a needle

Alles was du brauchst: Leder, Schere, Nieten, Faden, Druckknöpfe und eine Nadel

Step 1: Fold the leather and cut a semi-circle.

Step 2: Cut off the edges of the semi-circle to get the form of a taco.

Schritt 1: Falte das Leder und schneide einen Halbkreis.

Schritt 2: Schneide die Ecken des Halbkreises weg um die Form eines Tacos zu bekommen.

Step 3: Cut off a little circle to put the plug through afterwards.

Schritt 3: Schneide ein kleines Loch, wo dann der Stecker durchgesteckt wird.

Step 4: Mark the middle of the taco where you wanna place the stud and make a tiny cut.

Schritt 4: Markiere die Mitte des Tacos, wo du dann die Niete befestigst und mache einen winzigen Schnitt.

Step 5: Attach the stud to the taco case.

Schritt 5: Befestige die Niete auf der Taco Hülle.

Step 6: Sew the snap onto the leather. Be careful not to pierce the leather, because the thread should not be seen on the backside.

Schritt 6: Nähe den Druckknopf auf das Leder. Pass auf, dass du das Leder nicht durchstichst, da man den Faden auf der Rückseite nicht sehen sollte.

Step 7: Put the plug through the hole and wrap the cable arond the case.

Schritt 7: Stecke den Stecker durch das Loch und wickel das Kabel um die Hülle.

Final product.
