Last week I took you with me (via Snapchat) on our trip to Salzburg. The reason for our trip was the #NachhaltigLeben (which means sustainable living) campaign from Allianz. Living in a sustainable way is really important to us. We're only buying meat at a butcher and not in a grocery store. Furthermore we check that our eggs are from our region and try not to support big players in the food market because sometimes they
are not sustainable at all and exploit our world.

Due to the fact that we just bought a flat we directly took out a life insurance. For us it was really important to know where our money will be invested until we get it back in a few years. The great thing about the Allianz insurance is that they invest only in sustainble companies that do not harm the environment, animals or human nature. Because living in a sustainable way doesn't only mean to be careful where you spend your money on but also where you invest your money.

A great example for this is also the Bio Restaurant Der Schützenwirt in St. Jakob am Thurn in Salzburg. They not only use biological products for their restaurant but they also support the Paracelsus School Salzburg that helps needy children to have a great start into their lives. The children also work on the nearby Demeterhof Paracelsus Hof where they work with animals which are then again used for the dishes in the restaurant.

I really love the project and I think it's amazing that there are companies like this. I'm also happy to spend more money if it is for a great cause. The most important thing however is transparency because many companies claimed to offer biological products in the past and in the end it came out that they were far away from the standards. But the Bio Restaurant Der Schützenwirt is really genuine and we also talked to the owner who told us how important it is for him to support nature and these children. And last but not least, the food was amazing.

As a starter we had great juices and a fresh salad. Then we had sirloin with sprouts and potatoe gratin and for dessert a warm chocolate cake with a liquid center. We were so full and happy and drove back to Tirol that night. But we said that we will go there again on our next trip to Salzburg.

Do you also try to live sustainable? What do you do to protect our environment?
